A computed tomography (CT) scanner is built from several major subsystems: an X-ray tube and generator, a multi-row detector, a rotating gantry, high-voltage and cooling assemblies, a patient couch, and image-reconstruction hardware. When one of these fails, sourcing a compatible refurbished part is usually faster and far more cost-effective than replacing the entire scanner.
